The Ehaho MT4200 is a 25-inch powered sound bar designed to clamp to a roll cage on a UTV, ATV, golf cart or boat. It has an amplifier built in, Bluetooth 5.0, RGB lighting and a waterproof, dust-resistant housing, so it can handle the noise and weather that stock vehicle speakers rarely cope with.
What is inside the bar
Ehaho lists two 1-inch high-output tweeters, two 4-inch mid/woofers and two 4-inch low-frequency radiators. Tweeters reproduce high frequencies such as cymbals and vocals, the mid/woofers carry most of the music, and a low-frequency radiator (also called a passive radiator) reinforces bass without needing a separate powered driver. A built-in Class D amplifier is rated by the brand at up to 500 watts. Class D amplifiers are efficient and run cool, which suits a sealed outdoor unit. Peak power figures are usually a maximum, not a continuous output.
Ehaho says the sound stays loud and clear even when the rider wears a helmet or travels at speed. Wind, engine and tyre noise cover a lot of the audio range outdoors, so the output matters more than it would in a living room.
Weather and dust protection
The housing is rated IP66. The first digit, 6, means dust-tight. The second digit, 6, means it resists powerful water jets, such as those from a hose. It is not designed for submersion, so check the manual for what it says about washing the vehicle and mounting the unit. Ehaho describes the housing as heavy duty.
Lighting
RGB multi-colour LEDs encircle the speaker unit and its sides. You can set them to hold steady or blink, and Ehaho says they can sync with the music through dynamic light patterns.
Inputs and control
The bar offers Bluetooth V5.0 for wireless streaming from a phone, along with USB audio playback and a 3.5mm aux input for smartphones and MP3 players. A control panel and a wireless remote are included. Bluetooth 5.0 generally gives a stable connection over a reasonable range, though a phone kept in a pocket on a rough trail may drop out at times.
Mounting
Universal brackets fit roll cages from 1 to 2 inches in diameter. The listing names UTVs, ATVs, golf carts, marine use and boats, and lists Polaris RZR, Ranger, Can-Am, Defender and Maverick as vehicles it fits. Check that your cage tube is within the 1-2 inch range.
Size
It measures about 3.7 x 25.0 x 5.0 inches (9.4 x 63.5 x 12.7 cm). Consider where it will sit relative to your head, mirrors and doors so it does not block your view.
Power wiring
The listing does not detail the wiring. Powered audio gear on a vehicle typically connects to a 12V supply, ideally through a fuse and a switched circuit so it does not drain the battery. Follow the manual and local rules.
Who it suits
It suits owners of side-by-sides, ATVs and golf carts who want an all-in-one audio setup without separate speakers, wiring and amplifier. It also suits people who use their vehicle in wet and dusty conditions.
What to check before you buy
- Cage diameter: confirm that the tube is 1-2 inches.
- Space: check that 25 inches of width is available at the mounting point.
- Power: check the voltage required and how the unit will be wired and fused.
- Noise rules: think about local noise rules and other riders.
- Remote and control panel: decide where you want each one.
