The VEVOR SC-30 is a pipe and drain inspection camera on a 98.4 ft (30 m) cable. A small waterproof camera head goes into the pipe, and a 4.3-inch colour monitor shows what it sees. It lets you look inside drains, ducts and wall cavities without digging them up, which helps when finding a blockage or checking a pipe's condition.
The camera head
The camera is 0.7 inch (17 mm) across and is built to IP68, a standard that means it is dust-tight and built for continuous immersion in water under conditions the maker specifies. Six LED lights illuminate the pipe, since drains are dark. A flexible spring section behind the head lets it follow bends.
VEVOR lists the compatible pipe sizes. In straight pipes it fits 0.98 to 3.94 inches (25 to 100 mm), and in right-angle pipes 1.97 to 3.94 inches (50 to 100 mm). That makes it a tool for household drains and smaller lines, not for large mains or sewers.
Cable and reel
The 98.4 ft cable is long enough to reach well into a run of pipe. A cable reel keeps it organised, so it doesn't tangle in the van or on the lawn. Cables should be pushed in gently and not forced against a blockage. Follow the manual on cleaning the cable and head after use.
Monitor and recording
The monitor is a 4.3-inch colour TFT LCD screen. VEVOR describes the picture as 1200TVL, a measure of the analogue camera's resolution in "TV lines", where a higher figure indicates more fine detail.
The DVR function records video and still images to a 16 GB micro SD card, which VEVOR says is included. Recording gives you something to look back on, to show a plumber or to compare with later inspections.
Battery
The kit has a rechargeable 8500 mAh lithium battery. VEVOR says it can run continuously for 14 hours and that the monitor shows the remaining capacity. The brand suggests fully charging it the day before work, which is a sensible habit with any battery-powered tool.
Who it suits
VEVOR names plumbers, contractors, inspectors, engineers and municipal workers, but also home use. It suits a homeowner checking a drain line before buying or after a slow-draining problem, as well as a tradesperson who wants their own inspection tool for wastewater and stormwater systems, ducts and other hard-to-reach spaces.
What to check before you buy
- Pipe size: measure your pipe against the listed diameters, especially for bends.
- Cable length: check that 98.4 ft covers the run you want to inspect.
- Access point: consider where you can insert the camera, such as a cleanout or open end.
- Screen and recording: decide whether a 4.3-inch screen and SD card recording meet your needs.
- Cleaning: plan to rinse and clean the cable and head after use, as the manual describes.
- Model names: the listing mentions both SC-30 and 230 ft in different places, so confirm the cable length of the version you receive.
