The VEVOR MIG130G is a compact MIG welder that runs on 110V power and puts out up to 130 amps. It works with both gas-shielded solid wire and gasless flux core wire, which makes it a flexible choice for workshop jobs, repairs and light fabrication. This page explains the main features and what to consider.
Gas MIG and flux core in one machine
MIG welding feeds a wire electrode through the torch while a shielding gas protects the weld. Flux core wire carries its own shielding in the wire, so it needs no gas bottle and is easier to use outdoors where wind blows gas away. Solid wire with gas typically gives a cleaner, tidier weld. VEVOR describes the MIG130G as a 2-in-1 machine that supports both.
What 130A means
VEVOR says 130A output can weld material up to 8mm thick and lists mild steel, stainless steel, cast iron, sheet metal and square pipe as compatible. Output current is only one factor. Thick material is typically welded in several passes, and a 110V machine has a duty cycle, meaning it needs rest periods after continuous use. Check the manual for the rated duty cycle.
Synergic control
Synergic control means the machine matches current and wire feed speed to your wire thickness and voltage setting, so you adjust fewer separate dials. VEVOR says this makes it easier to handle varied materials. For beginners it typically removes much of the trial and error in setting up.
Wire sizes and spool
The welder accepts 0.03 inch (0.8mm) and 0.04 inch (1.0mm) flux core and solid wire. The maximum spool size is 2.2 lb (1 kg), which is a small spool, so a long job may need a change.
IGBT inverter and display
The machine uses IGBT inverter technology. In general, inverter welders are lighter and more compact than older transformer-based ones. A large digital display shows the settings. VEVOR also lists overheat protection and current overload protection.
Portability
At 13.0 x 6.3 x 9.1 inches (about 33 x 16 x 23 cm) and 11.9 lb (about 5.4 kg), it is easy to carry. A shoulder strap frees your hands when moving around a site or yard.
Who it suits
It suits hobbyists, home garage users and light repair work: trailers, gates, fences, metal furniture and sheet metal projects. It is not meant for heavy industrial fabrication.
What to check before you buy
- Circuit: confirm your outlet and circuit can supply the current the manual lists.
- Material thickness: check that 130A and the listed 8mm limit suit your projects.
- Gas supply: if you want gas MIG, confirm what regulator, hose and cylinder you need.
- Protective gear: a welding helmet, gloves, protective clothing and ventilation are standard requirements.
- Wire and consumables: check the supported wire sizes and torch parts.
- Experience: welding involves heat, sparks and fumes, so follow the manual, local codes and workshop safety practice.
