The VEVOR BX-11 is a portable 61-key digital piano that folds in half. It is aimed at beginners, teenagers and adults who want something to practise on that can be tucked into a bag and carried from room to room, with no stand or power outlet needed for a session. Here is what its specs mean in practice.
A keyboard that folds
VEVOR describes an ultra-slim body with a 180° fold. Open, it measures about 35.8 inches (roughly 91 cm) across; the listing gives a depth of 7.6 inches and a height of 2.2 inches. It weighs 5.5 lb (about 2.5 kg), which is light for a keyboard with 61 keys. A carry bag comes with it, and VEVOR calls it lighted.
A built-in rechargeable lithium battery means you can play away from a socket. Battery life isn't given in the listing, so check the manual.
61 keys, touch sensitivity and lights
Sixty-one keys is five octaves, which covers a large amount of beginner and intermediate repertoire. It isn't the full 88 keys of an acoustic piano, so very wide pieces may need adapting.
VEVOR says the keys are pressure-sensitive, meaning notes are louder when you press harder, and that they have illuminated effects. Lit keys typically work as a learning aid, showing you which key to press. Piano stickers are included to help with finger placement. The brand says the keys give a piano-like touch and depth, though a portable folding keyboard will feel different from a weighted-key digital piano or an acoustic piano.
Sounds, rhythms and demo songs
The BX-11 offers 128 tones, international standard rhythms and 21 demo songs. In general, that lets a learner try piano, organ, strings or other voices and play along with a backing rhythm. Dual-channel stereo speakers are built in. VEVOR says they give layered tones across highs and lows; as with most compact keyboards, a pair of headphones or external speakers will usually give a fuller sound.
Bluetooth 5.0 and MIDI
The keyboard connects to a phone over Bluetooth 5.0, and VEVOR names apps such as Pop Piano and GarageBand. MIDI lets the keyboard send note data to music software for recording and editing. The listing notes that a computer connects through the power cable (USB), while a phone connects through Bluetooth. If you plan to use specific software, confirm it works with your device.
Sustain pedal
A sustain pedal is included. It lets notes ring on after you lift your fingers, which is central to how piano music sounds.
Who it suits
It suits first-time players, children and teenagers, travellers, and anyone with limited space. It is less suited to students who need the full weighted action and 88 keys that a formal piano exam course may expect.
What to check before you buy
- Space: unfolded, it's about 36 inches wide; check your desk or stand.
- Key count and feel: 61 keys, not 88, and lighter than a weighted piano action.
- Connectivity: make sure your phone or computer works with Bluetooth 5.0 or MIDI over USB and with your chosen app.
- Battery and charging: check the charging method and battery life in the manual.
- What's in the box: pedal, bag and stickers are mentioned; check anything else you need, such as a stand.
- Noise: consider headphones if you share a home.
