The eufy Smart Lock C30 (model T85D0) is a keypad deadbolt with built-in Wi-Fi. It replaces the lock on a front door so you can enter with a code, a key, a voice assistant or the app. Because Wi-Fi is built in, eufy says no separate bridge is needed to reach it from outside the home.
Wi-Fi and the app
Through the eufy Security app, eufy says you can lock and unlock the door remotely, manage who has access, receive real-time notifications and view an event history. In general, a lock with direct Wi-Fi uses more battery than one that relies on a bridge or a short-range connection, so the battery life figure matters here. The lock needs a Wi-Fi signal that reaches the door, so test the signal there first.
Ways to open the door
The listing names a physical key, voice commands through Alexa or Google Assistant, and the lock's physical buttons. eufy says the buttons are more durable and less error-prone than a touchscreen. Voice unlocking on smart locks is often set up to require a PIN or other confirmation, so check the manual and think about whether you want it enabled.
Auto-lock
The lock can re-lock itself after a time you set, whether the door is open or closed. This helps if you forget to lock up when leaving. Since it can lock with the door open, take your key or code with you when you step outside briefly.
Installation
eufy says the C30 fits standard US and Canadian doors and installs in about 15 minutes without drilling, as it works with the existing holes of a typical deadbolt. Check your door's thickness, bore and backset against the manual. If your door is non-standard, check before buying.
Power and weather
The lock runs on four AA batteries (not included), and eufy rates the battery life at up to five months. A low battery indicator warns you ahead of time. Operating temperatures run from -22°F to 158°F (-30°C to 70°C), and the lock has IPX3 water resistance, which covers spraying water at an angle, such as rain, but is not designed for immersion. Keep a physical key in case the batteries run flat.
Security features
Wrong-try protection temporarily locks the keypad after multiple incorrect attempts, which is meant to deter guessing. For any smart lock, a strong, non-obvious code and a secure Wi-Fi network matter, and you should follow the manufacturer's guidance and local codes.
Fitting into a smart home
eufy says the lock pairs with a eufy doorbell so both can be managed in the same app. It also works with Alexa and Google Assistant for voice control.
What to check before you buy
- Door fit: confirm the door preparation matches the lock's requirements.
- Wi-Fi at the door: make sure the signal is stable at the door.
- Batteries: buy four AAs, since none are included, and plan to change them.
- Household access: decide who gets codes and how you'll manage them.
- Backup: keep a physical key somewhere safe.
- Existing hardware: check that the strike plate and door frame are in good condition.
