The Creality Halot Mage S 14K is an MSLA resin 3D printer with a 10.1-inch monochrome LCD. It is aimed at people who want fine detail in miniatures, jewellery patterns and prototypes, along with faster printing than older resin machines. Here is what its headline specs mean and what resin printing involves.
What a 14K screen means
The LCD has a resolution of 13320 x 5120 pixels, which Creality lists as 16.8 x 24.8 micrometres per pixel. Smaller pixels mean the printer can reproduce finer surface detail on each layer, which matters for small figures, textures and thin features. The 10.1-inch display also gives a larger build area, listed at 8.78 x 4.96 x 9.06 inches (about 223 x 126 x 230 mm).
Speed claims
Creality says the closed-loop motor and dual linear rails enable a "Dynax+" mode with speeds up to 150 mm/h, which it describes as three to four times faster, and that a 15 cm model can print in about an hour. Monochrome LCDs let more UV light through than colour screens, which typically shortens exposure times per layer. Real print times depend on the model, resin and settings.
Light source and consistency
The printer uses the third generation of Creality's integral light source, which the brand says gives strong, uniform UV light across the screen. Even light matters because uneven curing can lead to inconsistent dimensions across the plate.
Build plate and film
The laser-carved build plate is meant to help prints stick, and the plate adapter is wire-drawn for firmer levelling. Creality says its three-layer "Pictor" release film reduces peel force by 35%, so prints separate from the film with less strain.
Smart features
The printer runs HALOT OS and supports remote printing from a phone or PC, with model files available from the Creality Cloud library. An air purifier with an activated carbon filter is built in to reduce odours. An optional Smart Resin Pump handles automatic resin feeding, and the feeding tube is detachable for swapping bottles. Creality also lists a three-month Chitubox PRO slicing software membership with the printer.
Who it suits
Resin printing generally suits small, highly detailed objects: tabletop miniatures, jewellery masters and display pieces. It is less suited to large, sturdy functional parts than filament printers.
What to check before you buy
- Space and weight: the printer is 13.1 x 23.9 x 10.6 inches and 28.9 lb, so allow room for the machine plus washing and curing.
- Resin handling: liquid resin and cleaning solvent need gloves, good ventilation and careful disposal. Read the resin maker's guidance.
- Extra equipment: most resin prints need a wash and cure step; confirm what you will buy separately.
- Resin compatibility: check which wavelengths and resins are supported in the manual.
- Software: confirm your computer works with the slicer and the remote features.
- Consumables: film and screen protectors wear out over time, so check how replacements work.
