The ASUS VA27UCPS is a 27-inch 4K business monitor built around a single-cable laptop connection. A USB-C port carries video and data and charges the laptop at up to 65W, and a USB hub, DisplayPort and HDMI cover the rest of a typical desk. A fully adjustable stand and a three-year warranty round out the business focus.

What 4K means at 27 inches

The panel is 3840 x 2160, four times the pixels of Full HD. On a 27-inch screen, that gives a very sharp image: small text looks crisp, and photos and spreadsheets have fine detail. The trade-off is that text at native size can look small, so many people use operating system scaling (often 125% to 150%) to keep it comfortable. The IPS panel has a 178° viewing angle, so colour and brightness stay consistent across the screen and from the side.

Colour and HDR

ASUS lists 99% sRGB coverage, the standard colour space for web content and most office or general creative work. The monitor is also described as HDR-10 capable. HDR-10 is a signal format that tells the display how to render brighter highlights and a wider tonal range. How convincing it looks depends on the panel's peak brightness, which the listing does not give, so treat it as compatibility with HDR content rather than a guarantee of dramatic results.

One cable for the laptop

The USB-C input carries the video signal and data, and charges a connected laptop at up to 65W. The USB hub lets you attach a keyboard, mouse or drive to the monitor and share them with the laptop through that same cable. Whether this works depends on the laptop: it must support video output over USB-C, and 65W suits many thin-and-light models but not every larger one. DisplayPort and HDMI are also provided for desktops or a second device.

Ergonomics

The stand offers tilt, swivel, pivot and height adjustment. Height is the one that matters most for posture: the top of the screen is generally best near eye level. Pivot lets you rotate the screen to portrait, handy for long documents or code. The monitor is also VESA wall-mountable if you prefer an arm or bracket.

Comfort and software

ASUS says its Eye Care features include TÜV Rheinland-certified Flicker-free and Low Blue Light technologies. ASUS DisplayWidget Center lets you change monitor settings through an on-screen interface rather than the buttons on the bezel.

Sustainability and warranty

ASUS notes paper packaging and energy-efficient performance meeting environmental standards, and lists a three-year warranty. Check the terms in your region.

What's in the box

  • DisplayPort cable
  • HDMI cable
  • L-shaped screwdriver
  • Power cord
  • Quick start guide and warranty card

It measures about 24.2 x 8.8 x 20.6 inches (roughly 61 x 22 x 52 cm) with the stand, and weighs 15.2 lb (about 6.9 kg).

Who it suits

It suits office workers, remote workers and anyone using a laptop at a desk who wants a sharp 4K display with simple docking. It is not designed around high-refresh gaming, as the listing does not give a refresh rate.

What to check before you buy

  • Laptop support: confirm USB-C video output and the power it needs.
  • Graphics capability: driving 4K needs a recent enough computer and the right port.
  • Scaling: look at how your software handles high-resolution displays.
  • Desk space: check width, depth and height at the stand's tallest setting.
  • HDR needs: HDR-10 compatibility is not the same as high peak brightness.
  • Warranty: read the terms for your region.
