The ASUS VA24DQSB is a 23.8-inch Full HD desktop monitor aimed at everyday work and study. It combines an IPS panel, a stand that adjusts in four directions, a handful of ports and built-in speakers, so a single screen can cover a home desk or a shared office without extra accessories.
What a 23.8-inch Full HD IPS panel gives you
The resolution is 1920 x 1080, the standard Full HD format. At 23.8 inches, that works out to a pixel density that most people find sharp enough for documents, browsing and streaming at normal desk distance. ASUS lists an IPS panel with a 178° viewing angle, and IPS panels typically keep colour and brightness steadier when you look at the screen from the side than VA or TN panels do. That helps if two people look at the screen together.
The backlight is LED, and the bezels are described as frameless, which makes the screen look cleaner and makes side-by-side dual-monitor setups tidier.
75Hz and Adaptive-Sync
Most office monitors run at 60Hz. This one goes up to 75Hz, which means the picture refreshes 75 times a second and motion can look a little smoother. Adaptive-Sync lets the monitor match its refresh rate to the graphics card, which reduces tearing in games. ASUS says it supports Adaptive-Sync with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 10 series, GTX 16 series, RTX 20 series and newer cards, and FreeSync with AMD Radeon cards. It's a casual-gaming feature rather than a competitive one.
Ports and the USB hub
The VA24DQSB offers HDMI, DisplayPort, D-sub (VGA) and a USB hub. The mix is useful: a modern laptop or PC can use HDMI or DisplayPort, while an older machine can still connect over VGA. The USB hub typically gives you extra ports for a keyboard, mouse or flash drive, wired through the monitor to one upstream cable. The box includes a power cord, an HDMI cable, a USB cable, a warranty card and a quick start guide.
An adjustable stand
Ergonomics is a strong point. ASUS lists +35° to -5° tilt, ±180° swivel, ±90° pivot and 130mm of height adjustment. Pivot lets you rotate the screen into portrait orientation, which suits reading long documents or code. The monitor is also VESA mountable, so you can use a monitor arm instead of the stand. It measures about 21.3 inches wide and 12.8 inches tall (roughly 54 x 32.5 cm) and weighs 11.7 lb (about 5.3 kg).
Eye Care and speakers
The monitor carries ASUS Eye Care features, which ASUS says include TÜV Rheinland-certified flicker-free and low blue light technologies. Built-in speakers handle system sounds and casual listening, though most people use headphones or external speakers for music.
It's multiple-voltage compatible, accepting 100-240V.
Who it suits
It suits students, home-office users and anyone setting up a second screen who wants an adjustable stand and several input options. It's less suited to colour-critical design or high-refresh competitive gaming.
What to check before you buy
- Desk space: the stand needs about 21.3 inches of width; a VESA arm saves room.
- Your ports: confirm your computer has HDMI, DisplayPort or VGA output.
- Graphics card: if you want Adaptive-Sync, check it works with your card.
- Resolution: at 1080p, 23.8 inches suits normal desk distance; larger screens may need higher resolution.
- Cables: confirm which cables you'll need in addition to those in the box.
