The ASUS ROG Swift PG32UCDM is a 32-inch gaming monitor with a QD-OLED panel at 4K resolution and a 240Hz refresh rate. It combines the deep blacks associated with OLED with a large, sharp screen. Here is what the listed specifications mean.
QD-OLED and 4K resolution
In an OLED display, each pixel produces its own light, so a black pixel can switch fully off. That is why OLED screens are known for deep blacks and strong contrast. QD-OLED adds a quantum-dot layer intended to boost colour. ASUS describes this panel as third-generation QD-OLED.
Resolution is 3840 x 2160 (4K UHD). At 32 inches that works out to about 138 pixels per inch, which gives crisp text and detail at normal desk distance.
Refresh rate and response time
The monitor refreshes up to 240 times a second, with a 0.03 ms (grey-to-grey) response time. A high refresh rate gives smoother motion in fast games, though it only helps when your graphics card can produce frames that quickly at 4K. The monitor is G-SYNC Compatible, which helps match the screen to the graphics card's frame rate to avoid tearing.
Colour and HDR
ASUS lists 99% DCI-P3 coverage, true 10-bit colour and a Delta E below 2 colour difference, plus a pre-calibration report in the box. Delta E measures colour accuracy, and lower numbers mean closer matches. The monitor is VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black compliant, a certification aimed at OLED's very dark blacks.
Heat management and OLED care
OLED panels can in principle suffer burn-in if static images stay on screen for long periods. ASUS says the custom heatsink, airflow design and graphene film manage heat to reduce that risk. An optional uniform brightness setting keeps luminance consistent, and the DisplayWidget Center software gives access to OLED Care functions and lets you adjust settings with a mouse. Following the manual's care advice is still sensible.
Connections
The listing gives DisplayPort 1.4 with DSC, HDMI 2.1 and a USB-C port with 90W Power Delivery. The USB-C connection can carry video and charge a compatible laptop through a single cable. Check that your graphics card or console has the outputs needed for 4K at high refresh rates.
What is in the box
The box includes a DisplayPort cable, an HDMI Ultra High Speed cable, a USB 3.2 cable, a USB-C cable, a VESA mount kit, a power cord and adapter, a quick start guide, a warranty card and the colour pre-calibration report, plus a ROG pouch and sticker.
Who it suits
It suits gamers who want a large 4K display with fast motion, and creators who value colour coverage and contrast. It is a lot of screen and pixels for simple office use.
What to check before you buy
- Graphics card: driving 4K at high refresh rates takes a powerful card and the right ports.
- Desk space: a 32-inch screen with its stand needs depth and width. Check the stand's adjustments, or use the VESA mount kit.
- Static content: if you often leave the same window on screen, read the OLED care guidance.
- Room lighting: glossy or reflective surfaces can show glare in bright rooms.
- Laptop charging: confirm your laptop supports USB-C video and 90W charging.
- Warranty: check how burn-in is treated under the warranty terms.
