The VEVOR CZPC40X80B is a clear polycarbonate awning for a door or window, sized 78 by 38 inches (about 198 x 97 cm). It projects from the wall to give shade and shelter from rain and snow over an entrance. VEVOR sells it for houses and business premises, and it is one of the simpler ways to add cover over a front step.
What the panel is made of
The canopy is a hollow polycarbonate sheet, 6 mm thick. Hollow (or twin-wall) sheet has internal channels that make it light while keeping stiffness, and polycarbonate is a tough plastic often used for glazing, greenhouses and skylights. VEVOR calls the panels high-transparency, so daylight still reaches the doorway. It rates the sheet at UPF 50+, which describes ultraviolet protection for fabrics and shade materials. VEVOR says it blocks UV rays and intense sunlight, and it also shelters the entry from rain.
Frame and connectors
The frame is ABS plastic, and the joints use aluminium connectors that VEVOR calls an upgraded, seamless system. The idea is to seal each joint so water doesn't leak through during heavy rain. Aluminium resists rust, and ABS is a rigid, weather-tolerant plastic. VEVOR describes the set as durable through hot summers and cold winters.
Size and weight
Listed dimensions are 37.9 x 78.2 x 10.8 inches (96 x 199 x 27 cm), and the weight is 14.0 lb (about 6.4 kg). The 78-inch width gives a little extra on either side of a standard door, while the 38-inch projection keeps the shelter over the step. Check the numbers against your doorway, because trims and frames vary.
Installing it
VEVOR supplies a step-by-step guide and recommends two people. The awning mounts to the wall above the door or window. Mounting hardware depends on the wall: brick, concrete, timber and siding all call for different fasteners, so use what suits yours and follow the manual. If you are unsure about wall strength, a professional installer can help.
Where it helps
- Keeping rain off the front step and visitors.
- Shading a window that gets strong afternoon sun.
- Adding cover over a side or rear entry.
Because the panel is clear, it gives less shade than an opaque canopy, and the UPF 50+ figure is VEVOR's.
What to check before you buy
- Measure the width of your door or window and the clear wall space above it.
- Confirm the wall type and choose suitable fixings.
- Think about snow load where winters are heavy, and clear snow from the panel as the manual advises.
- Check local building rules or HOA requirements for exterior additions.
- Plan for two people to lift and fix it.
