The WORX Cube Vac (WX030L) is a small, cordless 20V vacuum shaped like a cube, made for spot cleaning in the car, at a desk or in the kitchen. It is not meant to replace a full-size vacuum: WORX positions it for quick jobs where pulling out a corded machine is more trouble than the mess itself. Here is what its specifications mean in practice.
What 10 kPa of suction means
Suction on compact vacuums is often quoted in kilopascals (kPa), a measure of the pressure difference the motor creates at the nozzle. The Cube Vac is listed at 10 kPa. For a machine this size, that is aimed at crumbs, dust and loose dirt on seats, cushions, desks and counters rather than deep cleaning of whole carpets.
There are two speeds: low for most cleaning tasks, and high for dirt that sits deeper down and needs more suction. As with most cordless tools, using the lower setting where it does the job typically stretches the runtime.
Hose, crevice nozzle and brush
The retractable hose extends up to 4 ft (about 1.2 m). You can leave the unit on a seat or the floor and reach around corners with the nozzle, or hold it up high to clean ceiling fans and window treatments. The crevice nozzle gets between car seats, around the console and the dash, and under kitchen counters, while a brush attachment helps on the couch and between cushions.
Tank, filter and emptying
The tank holds 6 oz of dry debris and empties with one touch. The Cube Vac is for dry debris only: liquids and damp dirt can damage a dry vacuum's motor and filter, so wet spills need a different tool. The HEPA filter is removable and washable. HEPA filters are designed to trap very fine particles, and washable ones typically need to dry fully before they go back in; the manual sets out the cleaning routine.
Battery, runtime and PowerShare
The included 20V 2.0Ah lithium battery and charger give up to 15 minutes per charge. That is enough for a car interior or a few quick clean-ups, which is the kind of work the Cube Vac is built for. Amp-hours (Ah) describe how much charge a battery holds, and "up to" runtime figures are usually the best case, at the lower speed.
The battery belongs to WORX's PowerShare system. WORX says PowerShare is compatible with its 20V and 40V tools, outdoor power equipment and lifestyle products, so if you already own PowerShare tools, one battery can move between them.
Size and storage
At 5.9 x 7.2 x 8.6 inches (about 15 x 18 x 22 cm) and 3 lb (1.4 kg), it fits in cabinets, desk drawers, car trunks and backpacks, and its square shape stacks neatly.
Who it suits
It suits people who want a quick spot-cleaning vacuum for the car, the office and small messes at home, especially anyone already using WORX PowerShare batteries.
