The Levoit LPF-R432-WUS is a tall pedestal fan that also works on a tabletop, built around a DC motor and a remote control. It aims to move air across a whole room quietly, including at night. This page explains the specs and what to think about before choosing it.
Airflow: what 908 CFM and 82 ft mean
CFM, cubic feet per minute, measures how much air a fan moves. Levoit lists a maximum of 908 CFM, a wind speed up to 22 ft/s and a reach of up to 82 ft. Levoit also says, citing its own VeSync Labs data, that the air in a 272 sq ft room with a 10 ft ceiling cycles once in about three minutes. These are the brand's maximum figures, and real results depend on room shape, furniture and speed setting.
Quiet running with a DC motor
DC motors are typically quieter and more efficient than traditional AC fan motors and allow finer speed control. Levoit lists noise of 20-23dB on speeds 1-3, 37-40dB on speeds 4-6 and 42-46dB on speeds 7-9. Low settings are meant for bedrooms, while high speeds trade noise for stronger airflow.
Speeds and modes
There are nine speeds and four modes:
- Normal: you pick speed 1 to 9.
- ECO: the fan adjusts to room temperature, rising one level when the room warms 2°F and dropping one level when it cools 2°F.
- Turbo: oscillates at speed 9, intended to work with air conditioning.
- Sleep: the display turns off after five seconds and the speed adjusts as the room temperature settles.
A 9-hour timer and a remote control are also listed.
Oscillation and angle
The fan sweeps automatically through 90° horizontally, and you tilt it manually through up to 120° vertically. That lets you aim it upward at a ceiling or down at a seat, or use it on a table.
Working with other appliances
Levoit says the fan can help purifiers, humidifiers, air conditioners and heaters spread their output around a room. In general, a fan only moves air, so it does not replace those devices.
Cleaning and assembly
The blades and front grille are detachable and the brand says they reassemble in under a minute. Levoit describes them as dishwasher safe. Check the manual for which parts can be washed and how. The brand notes the fan may feel warm to the touch in operation and says this is normal.
Size
The fan measures 12.5 x 14.5 x 43.7 inches and weighs 12.7 lb (about 5.8 kg), so it stands about 1.1 m tall.
Who it suits
It suits bedrooms and living rooms where people want strong airflow with low noise, and anyone who likes a remote or sleep mode. Those with very small spaces may find it larger than needed.
What to check before you buy
- Room size and space: the base footprint and height, and clearance for oscillation.
- Noise: the lowest figures are for speeds 1-3, so check the level you'd actually use.
- Controls: confirm you are comfortable with the remote and sensor settings.
- Cleaning: follow the manual before washing any parts.
- Placement: keep cords away from walkways and follow the manual's safety guidance.
