The CASABREWS 5700Pro is a semi-automatic espresso machine with a built-in conical burr grinder and a manual steam wand. Instead of buying a separate grinder, you load whole beans, and the machine grinds straight into the portafilter. This page explains what the main specs mean and what to consider before choosing a machine of this kind.
Grinder and grind settings
An integrated conical burr grinder crushes beans between two cones, which typically gives a more even grind than blade grinders. CASABREWS lists 15 grind settings. Grind size is the main lever in espresso: finer slows the water and increases extraction, coarser speeds it up. Fresh grinding on demand also keeps aroma from fading, since ground coffee goes stale faster than whole beans. CASABREWS advises cleaning the grinder every 18 to 25 days.
20 bar and 1500W
The machine has a 20-bar Italian pump and a 1500W power system. The pump pressure figure is a maximum; espresso is usually extracted at around nine bar at the coffee, and the rest is headroom. The LCD shows the pressure zone by range so you can adjust the next brew. The wattage covers the grinder, boiler and pump, so check your circuit.
LCD and dial controls
The LCD shows real-time animations for grinding and extraction and gives prompts. Separate dials handle steam, hot water and pre-programmed single or double shots. The combination means a beginner can follow the screen, while the manual steam wand leaves milk texturing to you.
Steam wand and milk
The steam wand has a 10 mm tip, and CASABREWS says it makes microfoam for lattes and latte art. Microfoam is milk with very fine bubbles, and getting it takes practice with wand position and temperature. Purge the wand and wipe it after each use, as the manual describes.
Dose and tank
CASABREWS recommends about 13 g of ground coffee for a single shot and 19 g for a double, and notes that grind size, tamping and bean freshness all matter. The detachable transparent tank holds 91 oz (about 2.7 litres), which is generous for a home machine. The body is brushed stainless steel and measures 12.8 x 11.2 x 16.5 inches (about 33 x 28 x 42 cm).
Who it suits
It suits home users who want to learn espresso, drink milk-based drinks, and prefer one machine over separate grinder and brewer. People who want fully automatic, one-touch drinks will find a semi-automatic machine more hands-on.
What to check before you buy
- Height: at 16.5 inches, confirm it fits under your cabinets with the lid raised.
- Counter space: allow room for the tank, drip tray and a milk jug.
- Power: check the outlet and avoid sharing it with other high-wattage appliances.
- Cleaning: plan for descaling, grinder cleaning and wand wiping; read the schedule in the manual.
- Beans and accessories: check the supplied portafilter, baskets and tamper.
- Learning curve: be ready to adjust grind and dose over a few attempts.
