ANGELBLISS BS-01 5-in-1 bedside bassinet and playpen: features and specs

The ANGELBLISS BS-01 is a foldable baby bassinet that combines five uses in one frame: a bedside crib, a standalone crib, a rocking bassinet, an activity centre and a U-shaped diaper-changing station. It is aimed at new parents who want one piece of furniture for the early months and the playpen stage afterward.

The five modes

ANGELBLISS lists these uses: bedside sleeper, freestanding crib, rocking bassinet, activity centre and diaper changer. The bottom layer can also serve as a playpen for babies and toddlers (listed for 0 to 36 months) once the inner zipper section is removed and the mattress placed inside as padding. In that mode the brand gives the floor area as about 50 inches long and 26 inches wide.

Bedside use

In bedside mode the bassinet attaches next to the parent's bed, with four height settings. The brand stresses that the side fixing straps must be set to stop the bed tilting. Always follow the manual for attaching it, and check that your mattress height and bed frame work with the settings.

Diaper changer and storage

The diaper table has a safety belt, which the listing says is there to prevent a baby rolling off. Never leave a baby unattended on any changing surface. Storage includes one bilayer storage bag and one storage basket for diapers and small items within reach.

Rocking and the hanging mobile

Unfolding the bottom stand turns the bassinet into a rocker. A hanging music toy can be rotated to play soothing music. The unilateral wheels move only when you gently lift the non-wheel side, which ANGELBLISS says is a safety design.

Folding and assembly

The brand says it assembles without tools and folds for storage and transport. It asks you to read the manual carefully, assemble as instructed and not force the folding. The listed dimensions are 49 x 25 x 30 inches and 9 lb.

Who it suits

A multi-use bassinet like this suits families who want a bedside option, a changing station and a later play area from one product, and who have room for it at the bedside. Families with limited space may want to measure carefully first.

What to check before you buy

• Your bed's height and frame, and whether the straps will fit securely.

• Whether the mattress and sheet supplied suit your needs.
