The Vantrue JS1 is a portable jump starter built around a 20,000mAh battery. It can start a vehicle with a flat battery without a second car, and the same battery also works as a USB power bank and a flashlight. Here is what its figures mean and what to confirm for your vehicle.

What 3000A and 20,000mAh mean

The 3000A is the peak current, the short burst the unit can deliver to turn over an engine. Vantrue says that is enough for 12V gasoline engines up to 10.0 L and diesel engines up to 8.0 L, including cars, pickups, motorcycles and lawnmowers. The 20,000mAh figure is the battery's capacity. Vantrue says one full charge gives up to 40 jump starts. Real results typically depend on engine size, temperature and the state of the vehicle battery.

The Boost function

If a car battery is so low that the starter doesn't recognise it, the jump starter may not begin supplying power. Vantrue's BOOST button is designed to override that and force output. It is a feature to use carefully and with the manual open.
