The Auxbeam RB120 is a 12-gang switch panel that puts the controls for auxiliary equipment in one place. Trucks, boats, UTVs and other vehicles often carry extra lights, pumps, winches or compressors, and each needs a switch and wiring. A panel like this groups them in one backlit unit, connected to a control box. Here is how it works.
Three switch modes
Each switch can be programmed to one of three modes, and Auxbeam lists them as:
- Toggle: constant on or off, like a regular switch. This suits lights and accessories you leave running.
- Momentary: the output works only while the switch is pressed. This suits a horn, winch or other short-use device.
- Pulsed: a strobe effect, for lights that should flash.
Having all three in one panel is flexible, because one switch can be reassigned to suit what you connect to it.
RGB backlight and auto-dimming
The backlight offers a wide range of RGB colours so it can match the vehicle's interior. A built-in light sensor adjusts brightness automatically, brighter in bright surroundings and dimmer in the dark, which Auxbeam says avoids eye strain. A mode button turns the backlight off completely, which many drivers prefer for night driving. The ON/OFF button has a memory function: when you switch the panel back on, it restores the settings from before it was turned off.
Control box and protection
The control box splits the outputs into two sides, which Auxbeam says allows more flexible wiring and reduces clutter in the engine bay and under the dash. It uses built-in solid-state relays, which have no moving contacts. The package also includes a resettable circuit breaker, and Auxbeam says the system protects against reverse polarity, overcurrent, overvoltage and overheating. A silicone protective cover helps shield the panel from water, snow and sand. Correct fusing and wire gauge still matter, so follow the manual for the wiring.
Compatibility
Auxbeam says the panel works with 12-24V vehicles, including trucks, boats, cars, buses, powersports machines, ATVs, UTVs, side-by-sides and heavy-duty machinery. The listing is explicit that this panel doesn't support Bluetooth app control, so all settings are made with the buttons on the panel. A two-year warranty is listed.
Who it suits
It suits people building out an off-road vehicle, work truck or boat with several accessories, and who want a tidy single control point instead of separate switches.
What to check before you buy
- Count your loads: confirm that 12 switches cover what you plan to connect.
- Current limits: check each output's rated current in the manual against your equipment.
- Mounting space: the panel needs a place within reach, and the control box needs a protected spot.
- No app control: if you want Bluetooth control, this isn't that product.
- Wiring skill: plan fuses and wire gauges carefully, or use a qualified installer.
