The AINAVITO 10-inch car stereo is a Linux-based head unit built for 2008-2013 Honda Accord models without factory navigation. It adds wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, a QLED touchscreen and a 1080p backup camera, while keeping the factory climate control display. Here is which Accords it fits, what the specs mean and what to check first.
Which Accords it fits
AINAVITO lists the 2008-2013 Accord in its base and mid-level trims: LX, LX-P, EX and EX-L without navigation. The pictures show the screen mounted at the top of the centre stack, with the factory climate controls still in place below, and the listing confirms that the climate control display in the lower dash is kept.
It does not fit the EX-L V6 with factory navigation, the Touring or the Crosstour. The listing shows which dashboards can and can't take it and asks buyers to check the shape of their centre console first; AINAVITO offers to help if you send a message or a photo. The parts picture puts the head unit with its frame at about 9.9 x 5.8 inches.
Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto
Built-in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi let wireless CarPlay and Android Auto connect automatically when you start the car, so maps, music and messages appear without plugging in a cable. Wireless phone projection typically uses Bluetooth to pair and Wi-Fi to carry the screen and audio, which is why both are built in. Screen mirroring is supported too. Your phone needs to support wireless CarPlay or wireless Android Auto for this to work.
A Linux system rather than Android
Many aftermarket head units run a full version of Android. This one runs Linux, a lighter system built around CarPlay, Android Auto, radio and Bluetooth, and AINAVITO says it boots quickly. Linux head units like this typically rely on the phone for navigation and music apps rather than installing apps on the unit itself, so they suit drivers who mainly use CarPlay or Android Auto.
The QLED touchscreen
The 10-inch touchscreen has a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and uses QLED technology, which adds a quantum-dot layer to an LCD panel to widen its range of colours. AINAVITO's picture gives a 178-degree viewing angle, which helps a screen in the middle of the dash look consistent from both front seats.
Camera, controls and sound
A 1080p AHD backup camera is included. AHD is a format that carries high-definition video over analogue camera wiring. The listing describes the camera as waterproof with a wide viewing angle, and AINAVITO's picture gives 170 degrees.
The factory steering wheel controls are retained, and the buttons can be mapped to adjust the volume, change AM/FM stations or answer calls. Bluetooth handles hands-free calls and music streaming, a microphone is included, and the pictures also show a DSP equaliser for adjusting the sound.
The parts picture shows the frame and head unit, a power cable with a CANbus decoder, a power cable for the factory screen, audio input cables, an RCA cable, two USB cables, the rear-view camera, a reversing control cable and a frame removal tool.
Who it suits
It suits owners of 2008-2013 Accord LX, LX-P, EX and EX-L models without navigation who want wireless phone connection, a larger screen and a rear camera, while keeping the climate display and steering wheel buttons.
What to check before you buy
- Trim and console: confirm your trim, that the car has no factory navigation, and that your centre console matches the pictures.
- Your phone: wireless CarPlay and Android Auto need a phone that supports them.
- Apps: expect to run apps from your phone rather than on the unit.
- Installation: read the manual first, and plan the camera cable route from the back of the car to the dash.
- On the road: set up navigation before driving, and follow local rules on screen use.
